I've been awfully slack keeping my website updated, but I'm much more current on my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/HEYKATIEW/?fref=ts So head over there if you ever want to know where I am or what I'm up to! I know I've said it before, but I'll try be better on here
In June I'm going to be on holidays for 16 days (June 21-July7) during this time, I will be out of the country, so won't be able to take calls and will have limited email access. So make sure you have all your appointments booked, right now I've booked up until July, so get those ones booked for when I get back!
In January I travelled to Las Vegas, along with my Redken Canada team and 10000 hairstylists from all over the world for 3 days of education! Redken Symposium is the largest hair single company hair even in the world! We spent our days attending classes on cutting, finishing, colours, business and how to give the best to our clients! And the evenings were spent at a concert and an opening gala and cocktail party! SO much fun and I've come back full of inspiration and ready to get the year started!
I've had a busy busy few months and haven't had time to update here! take a look on my Facebook KATIE WEBSTER HAIR as it's easier to update on there as I can do it from my phone!
At the start of summer I was asked to help out on a shoot for Shelby Tianne who has designed a line of womens clothing with a motorcycle influence. Super cute, even if you don't own a bike! I've uploaded the pics on my FB page in an album you can check them out there if you want to see the collection...

Just back from a week in Montreal with Redken Canada. We has our Fusion event, which happens every two years, and bring 1100 Redkenites from all across Canada together for two full days of education and two nights of fun! This year was no exception, hair education at it's best!
Being a Redken Artist, I often go into salons and tailor classes according to that particular salon's needs. I spent the evening a few weeks ago in Ladner, BC with the atomic Hair Studio stylists, getting them grad/wedding season inspired. I love doing these classes, and demoed on a live model. These are just a few of the easy-but-look-hard styles I did for them...
Last week I spent the week in Toronto for World mastercard fashion week, doing hair for Redken for all the runway shows!
Basically how it works is we have a team of 20+ Redken Stylists from all across Canada come together to be a part of it. We have a lead stylist, Jorge Joao, who has spent the weeks before meeting with designers and creating looks for the hair to compilment the designers vision.
The day before the week starts, we all meet at the Redken Exchange in Toronto to go through all the proposed looks as a group and practice the trickier styles to make sure we all get them the same. It's really important that the are all the same on the runway.
On the day of the shows, the shows are on the hour. And some models are used in more that one show, some are in shows straight after each other. So we get the hair done, Mabelline get the makeup and Essie, get the nails done. Sometimes we have 30mins, sometimes we have 8mins! We always work with a partner for speed, when we are down to an 8 minute turnaround we have up to 5 people working on the model to get her out in time! It's similar to formula 1 racing, when the cars come in for a pit stop. We all get to work as fast as possible, then step back. It's quite the rush. I'll try post some pictures up from soon. Otherwise I've got a bunch on my facebook hair page. KATIE WEBSTER HAIR check them out to see the c
